MED-SURG ACUTE CARE RN

Detailed head to toe and focused patient assessments and close monitoring. Medication administration through various routes. Insertion of peripheral IVs, Foley catheters, NG tubes and port access. Consistent communication with interdisciplinary care team. Detailed attention and care/maintenance of patient wounds. Thorough documentation and understanding of comprehensive patient charts through various EMR systems. Attending to a wide range of patients based on acute and chronic needs. Performing thorough head to toe and focused assessments and researching the medical background of each assigned patient. Assessing each patient’s risk for falls and enforcing proper interventions for fall prevention. Carrying out tasks each shift such as medication administration via oral, IV, IM, Subcutaneous, PEG, NG, inhalation, and topical routes; foley Cather insertion, IV insertion, and wound care. Proper care/handling and aseptic technique of central lines and Foley catheters to prevent occurrences of CAUDIs and CLABSIs. Consistent communication with interdisciplinary team regarding each assigned patient. Close and attentive monitoring of each patients’ status such as neuro status, cardiac status, respiratory status, vital signs and SIRS/SEPSIS alerts and alerting the appropriate team based on the patient’s current condition
