Attend safety meeting / toolbox talk. Check loco pre-use: brakes, lights, bell/hooter, sand box, couplers, battery/diesel level. Check that the track is clean and no obstruction. Report any defects to Shift Boss / Foreman. Ensure fire extinguisher is available. Drive according to mine standards and speed limit (usually 10km/h max underground). Always hoot at corners, junctions, and when moving. Wear full PPE: overall, helmet, lamp, self-rescuer, boots, gloves, goggles
