Experience
Research Assistant — Astronomical Data Analysis
Reducing and working with spectroscopic data collected from the Gemini South Telescope.. Made a SQL database to extract header information for the reduction software and used Jupyter Notebook and Python for additional subtractions.. Creating red-shift estimates for each object to determine if they are in the desired galactic cluster.
Private Physics Tutor
Working with a student in A.P. Physics.. Explaining complicated concepts clearly and accurately.. Walking through example problems to cement understanding.
Undergraduate Researcher — JWST Data Analyst
Created data cubes of 4 observed galaxies using an existing reduction pipeline.. Analyzed noise properties and found wavelength-dependent unsubtracted noise for one galaxy.. Capstone project that got me acquainted with spectroscopic data and tools like Python for analysis.
