Familiar with all four (4) most popular welding types: shielded metal arc (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux cored arc welding (FCAW) and gas tungsten arc gas welding (GTAW/TIG). Knowledge and Skills of welding Process. Reference prints and work instruction to determine the appropriate materials, tools, resources, and procedures for effectively completing process. Examines welded/soldered section defects and performs necessary rework of bad joints, broken parts, or leaks. Inspects, tests, and adjust completed units to ensure that meet specification tolerances, and costumers order requirements using test equipment, rulers, micrometers, calipers, to ensure accuracy and conformance to quality standards. May assist in training other welders. Rework parts as required by machining to blueprint dimensions. Work with engineering to develop programs, determine new methods, develop parameters, and determine material type for new modified products. Double check quantities of parts produced for accuracy. Maintain a functional work area that is consistent with Five (5) “S” and lean manufacturing principles. Inspect parts produced to the company’s quality standards, and fitment to the fixture. Fully competent to spot/Full weld as well. Places two pieces of metal into machine and the machine heats the metal to spot weld. Welds metal parts together using both gas welding and any combination of arc welding process. Perform related task such as thermal cutting and grinding
