At Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Uruguay, we are looking for a Functional Tester to join our team supporting one of our global customers. This role requires someone who thrives in dynamic environments and is comfortable working in a hybrid model or onsite model depending on the final project.Key Responsibilities Analyze business and functional requirements to identify test scenarios and acceptance criteria.Design, create, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts.Execute functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).Document, track, and manage defects using Jira.Validate data integrity and perform backend testing using SQL queries.Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Developers, and QA team members throughout the SDLC.Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, and Retrospectives.Ensure requirements traceability from analysis through testing and defect resolution.Perform root cause analysis and assist in troubleshooting issues.Verify bug fixes and conduct regression testing before release.Create and maintain testing documentation, execution reports, and testing metrics.Support UAT activities and coordinate with business stakeholders.Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and testing methodologies.Required Qualifications 8+ years of experience as a Functional Tester, QA Analyst, or Software Test Analyst.Strong experience with Jira for defect tracking and test management.Hands-on experience writing and executing SQL queries for data validation and backend testing.Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).Experience designing test cases and executing manual testing.Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.Experience testing web-based and enterprise applications.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and documentation abilities.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.Preferred Qualifications Experience with Postman or API testing tools.Knowledge of REST APIs and JSON.Familiarity with test management tools such as Xray, Zephyr, TestRail, or Azure DevOps.Basic understanding of automation testing concepts (Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress).Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.ISTQB Foundation Certification or equivalent QA certification.Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments.Technical Skills MandatoryJiraSQLFunctional TestingRegression TestingIntegration TestingUATAgile/Scrum Nice to HavePostmanREST API TestingJSONXray / ZephyrSeleniumAzure DevOpsSAPRegistry will be valued according to law 19691 art 8.Tata Consultancy Services is an equal opportunity employer.
