Role Description The High School Science Teacher at Monterrey Christian School is a full-time, on-site role based in San José. This position is responsible for planning and delivering engaging science lessons, including physics and environmental science, aligned with the school’s curriculum and educational standards. The teacher will design assessments, evaluate student progress, and provide constructive feedback to support academic growth. Daily responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment, collaborating with colleagues and school leadership, and communicating regularly with students and families about learning goals and progress. The teacher is also expected to participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events that support the broader educational mission.QualificationsStrong instructional skills in lesson planning and curriculum development, with the ability to design clear, structured, and engaging learning experiences.Subject matter expertise in physics and environmental science, including the ability to explain complex concepts in an accessible way for high school students.Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with students, families, and colleagues, both in spoken and written formats.Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Science, or a related field; teaching credential or license appropriate for secondary education is preferred.Demonstrated classroom management skills and commitment to creating an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment.Ability to integrate technology into instruction and assessment to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.Experience working in school settings, preferably at the high school level; familiarity with Christian educational contexts is beneficial.Commitment to ongoing professional growth, collaboration with colleagues, and alignment with the school’s educational values and mission.
