Bishop Mays Inc. is looking to hire an experienced Excavator Operator. This is a full time position, typically working at Monday-Friday work week. Responsibilities: • Safe and efficient operation of excavator to meet production targets • Must be able to cut grade and load trucks efficiently • Must be able to excavate safely for pipe laying • Perform routine inspections, safety walk-arounds, and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment • Observe hand signals, grade stakes, or other markings when operating machines so that work can be performed to specifications • Receive written or oral instructions regarding material movement or excavation • May perform other related duties as assigned and operate various other equipment • Full-time, Monday - Friday Requirements: • Good attitude, reliable, and self-motivating to produce results in a safe manner • Proficient skills and experience required; must understand earthmoving from rough grading to finish grading • Must have at least two years of experience operating excavator • Knowledge of civil drawings a plus • Drug-free • Must be 18 years of age or older • Legally eligible to work in the US • Must be accountable for conduct and have excellent attendance • Capable of working at a sustained pace and produce quality work Benefits: • Competitive wages based on experience and qualifications • Health insurance • Vacation pay • Holiday pay • 401K with matching program • Work clothing allowance • Opportunity to grow and move up in the company Work Environment: • Work is performed outside in all types of environmental conditions • Frequently lift 20 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds • Must be able to climb in and out of equipment unassisted • Must be able to stand, walk on uneven surfaces, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull
