About Newstead Academy Who we are Newstead Child Care is a modern child care centre that aims to prepare its students to excel as young leaders of tomorrow by combining an exclusive collegiate-based curriculum tailored specifically for children with enhanced, first class child care services. Unlike traditional child care centers, all our centers are facilitated with classrooms, an indoor gym area, library, performing art stage, commercial kitchen and cafeteria area. We are committed to nurturing the full capacity of children, youth, and their families to achieve their full intellectual, economic, and social potential. We opened our first centre in February 2022 at 13085 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill, Ontario. Our unique centre is 15000 square feet with full capacity of 165 children. Over the past 12 months we have grown our team to over 38 staff and have reached our full enrolment capacity. We currently have a waitlist of 125 children to enroll in our center. Job Responsibility • Develop and implement NACC programs that foster physical, mental, social development, as well as school readiness of children • Establish a secure and nurturing environment for children • Prepare courses and materials aligned with the Kindergarten Program (2016) curriculum for effective presentation to students • Employ a structured teaching approach, incorporating planned lessons, interactive discussions, and audio-visual aids to educate students • Lead activities by reading stories, teaching songs, taking children to nearby places of interest, and creating opportunities for expressing creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical engagement • Evaluate the progress of students and discuss results with students, parents and school officials • Assess and identify the abilities, interests and individual learning needs of students • Observe and assess children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems, and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor • Communicate effectively with children, families, and colleagues • Participate in staff meetings, educational conferences and teacher training workshops Job Requirements • Possession of a Bachelor’ s degree in Child Development//Education/Teaching-related major; a Master’s degree in Child Development/Teaching/Education considered advantageous • Kindergarten teaching qualification required (RECE license/OCT certificate in the Primary and Junior division) • 1-2 years of experience in kindergarten teaching role required, including experience in planning and implementing age-appropriate programs • Proficient English language skills • Proven expertise in course development and material design • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills • Preferred experience in Licensed Child Care Centres (or Daycares)/Elementary schools • Refined task organization and exemplary time management skills • Adept at working harmoniously and effectively with children, parents, and colleagues within a team-oriented environment • Clear Criminal Reference Check • Up-to-date medical record and immunizations, including tetanus within the last 10 years • Familiarity with The Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 (CCEYA) Job Benefits Health benefits • Dental plan • Health care plan • Vision care benefits Other benefit • Free parking available • Paid time off (volunteering or personal days) Contact information If you are interested in this position, please email your resume to Contact us through Cazvid
