Responsibilities: - Manage a caseload of Workers’ Compensation cases, ensuring efficient resolution. - Conduct meetings with clients and claims professionals to resolve cases in a cost-effective manner. - Develop theories and affirmative defenses, and provide appropriate responses. - Engage in routine motion practice, discovery, and legal research. - Handle routine depositions, hearings, conferences, and Trials as required. - Travel to various boards as necessary to represent clients. Minimum Qualifications: - Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience. - Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain an acceptable MVR, and uphold confidentiality. - Admitted to the bar and licensed to practice law in relevant jurisdictions. - Strong advocacy skills to effectively represent clients' interests. - Excellent communication skills to convey legal concepts clearly and effectively. - Organizational abilities to prioritize tasks and maximize productivity. Desired skills and experience: - Proficiency in MS Word, Lexis/Westlaw, and daily management of e-mail and calendar. - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with attorneys, adjusters, and support staff. - Strong investigative skills to gather evidence and follow up on inquiries accurately. - Proficient in legal research to locate relevant cases, laws, and statutes. - Familiarity with courtroom procedures and decorum. - Dedication to providing high-quality professional service to clients and claims professionals. Physical demands & work environment: - Ability to use a personal computer and standard office equipment. - Capability to operate a motor vehicle for travel purposes. - Willingness to travel as required. - Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods as needed.
