Qualifications: - Juris Doctorate and active license to practice law in CA (and/or other required states). - 5+ years of related experience, preferably with insurance defense or trial experience. - Proficiency in MS Office suite and other computer skills relevant to job tasks. - Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality. - Strong ethics and integrity. - Experience in a reputable law firm or in-house legal department for a mid- to large-sized organization. - Preferably, experience in the insurance industry and knowledge of legal holds and discovery processes. Key Responsibilities: - Review new file assignments, approve initial pleadings, and develop legal strategy. - Maintain regular contact with clients and claims, including strategy conferences and status updates. - Review all documentary evidence and prepare witnesses and clients for legal proceedings. - Conduct depositions, examinations under oath, court appearances, and settlement proceedings. - Handle post-trial motions, appeals, and subrogation litigation as needed. - Provide legal opinions and participate in business process reviews with claims clients.
