On a typical day, your responsibilities will include: - Conducting and analyzing conflicts database searches regarding prior and current clients of lateral-hire attorney candidates across all levels. - Providing detailed reports on lateral-hire attorney candidates to Practice Group Chairs, Partners In Charge, and other stakeholders. - Collaborating closely with the HR Recruiting team to support lateral-hire attorney recruiting and onboarding processes, specifically addressing conflicts of interest issues. - Coordinating the administrative opening of new matters for incoming lateral-hire attorneys, including identifying conflicts of interest and drafting waivers in accordance with applicable Rules of Professional Conduct. - Participating in training sessions for attorneys and staff on the firm's conflict screening and new client/new matter intake processes. - Being part of the Conflicts Staff Attorney on-call coverage for conflicts checks related to new business intake. - Updating department training materials on conflict and new business intake issues. - Running special searches as needed (e.g., prior relations of new attorneys, potential mergers) to identify potential conflict issues. - Contributing to special projects involving new business intake best practices and risk management initiatives. - Assisting with other administrative tasks or providing support as assigned. To be successful in this role, you should have: - 2+ years of experience working in a conflicts department, preferably in a large law firm setting. - Juris Doctor degree and licensure to practice in one or more United States jurisdictions. - Demonstrated knowledge of conflicts of interest rules under the Rule of Professional Conduct, with prior experience in conflict analysis in a large law firm environment being ideal. - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. - Ability to build relationships with other attorneys to gain confidence in the conflicts analysis and approval process. - Attention to detail, strong analytical and organizational skills. - Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. - Excellent customer service skills, including promptly addressing a variety of inquiries. - Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines. - Experience with Microsoft Office, with proficiency in the Elite Records Management System being preferred.
