Community Organizing Manager

**Responsibilities:** - Supervise and oversee activities conducted by community organizers. - Coordinate leadership development training and educational sessions to enhance leadership skills among local community residents. - Facilitate community residents’ meetings to identify and prioritize pressing community issues. - Develop advocacy plans to address identified community issues. - Identify responsible agencies, organizations, and laws/rules for community issues and troubleshoot solutions. - Foster collaborative partnerships with agencies, organizations, and individuals focusing on community issues. - Represent MICOP at social and labor justice events. - Develop strategic plans for leading labor justice campaigns. - Conduct training for program staff on community organizing. - Ensure program staff are aligned with desired outcomes and complete program goals. - Oversee data tracking for grant-required reports and develop plans to meet grant objectives. - Prepare reports for MICOP Executive Director, Assoc. Director, and Board Directors. - Participate in coalitions improving labor rights for agricultural workers. - Evaluate community organizing programs and identify advocacy and outreach opportunities. - Support and mentor community organizers, fostering a team-oriented environment. - Prepare content for Radio Indigena programs promoting labor rights of agricultural workers. **Requirements:** - Strong leadership skills, inspiring others towards a cause and volunteerism. - Commitment to MICOP’s mission and addressing community issues. - Excellent interpersonal and group facilitation skills. - Clear communication skills, both orally and in writing. - Analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. - Negotiation skills to accomplish objectives. - Availability to work weekends, evenings, and reliable transportation. - Proficient in MS Office Suite and Google Workspace. - Bilingual in English and Spanish; ability to speak an indigenous language preferred. **Experience:** - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred. - Minimum 1 year of leadership experience required. - Understanding of political processes and government structures. - Experience operating within a social justice environment.
