Daily communication with all Counselors on an individual basis to address any issues and give positive feedback., Facilitate weekly meetings with the Unit., Train Counselors in effective techniques via modelling in cabin life and programs., Take the lead with coordinating ongoing training for counselors., Coordinate specific training for certain staff after orientation as needed., Coordinate cabin supply needs of counselors., Supervise cabin life (e.g. health code compliance, etc.)., Prepare counselor feedback for Head Unit Leaders., Follow up on all provider phone calls to and from campers and counselors., Assist the Directors with evening responsibilities (four nights per week)., Cover a group of campers if necessary as a second counselor with group., Assist with preparing Behavior Incident Reports., Attend and actively participate in pre-camp orientation and staff meetings., Facilitate building camper self-esteem through Positive Practices., Demonstrates timely arrival to assigned location throughout workday and follows professional expectations., Respond to code unless coverage as counselor with a group., Assist Head Group Leader’s with camper evaluations., Exhibit positive, effective management and observational skills., Implement positive programming under the guidance of Horizons’ Mission and Guiding Principles., Communicates in a way that is accurate, timely, positive and capacity-based., Intervenes in emergency situations according to an individual’s specific behavior management program., Follow all policies and procedures of Horizons., Participate in scheduled training required by funding sources.
