We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable 3rd Engineer for bulk cargo ships based in Manila, Metro Manila, Philippines. This contract position represents a unique opportunity for individuals with a passion for marine engineering to be a part of the maritime industry. The role is critical to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of bulk cargo vessels, impacting both safety and performance standards on board.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor and manage machinery operations and equipment performance onboard.Assist in troubleshooting and resolving machinery malfunctions effectively.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures during all engineering operations.Collaborate with the engineering team to conduct routine maintenance and repairs on vessel systems.Maintain accurate logs and technical reports related to machinery operations and repairs.Participate in safety drills and training to stay prepared for emergency situations.Support senior engineers in various engineering projects and inspections onboard.Required and preferred qualificationsBachelor's degree in Marine Engineering.Proficient in marine engineering principles.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.Familiarity with safety regulations within the maritime industry.Excellent team collaboration abilities, with a proactive approach to communication.Proficient in technical drawing skills.The 3rd Engineer will typically work closely with other engineering team members, reporting to senior engineers. This role requires collaboration across different functions on the ship, ensuring that all engineering activities align with overall operational goals and safety standards.In terms of tools and technology, you will frequently utilize various engine room instruments and machinery management systems, contributing to a well-functioning onboard environment. The reporting structure involves direct interactions with the Chief Engineer and 2nd Engineer, fostering a team-oriented approach to maintenance and operations.
