SAP BW/ECC to Databricks Migration ConsultantLocation: Dallas, TX - Onsite roleDuration: 12+ MonthsVisa: USC, H1B, H4-EAD, L2-EADAbout the Role:We are looking for an experienced SAP BW/ECC to Databricks Migration Engineer to support a large-scale data modernization and migration initiative. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with SAP BW, SAP ECC/S/4HANA, Databricks, data engineering, and cloud-based data migration.This role will be responsible for analyzing existing SAP BW/ECC data environments, understanding business and data transformation logic, and designing and implementing scalable solutions to migrate SAP data and workloads into Databricks.The successful candidate should be comfortable working across both SAP data platforms and modern cloud data engineering technologies and should have demonstrated experience delivering SAP BW/ECC modernization or migration projects.Key Responsibilities:Lead and execute SAP BW/ECC to Databricks migration and modernization initiatives.Analyze existing SAP BW environments, data models, InfoProviders, ADSOs, transformations, DTPs, process chains, and data flows.Understand SAP ECC/S/4HANA source systems, SAP extractors, and underlying business data structures.Design and implement scalable data pipelines to migrate SAP data into Databricks.Translate existing SAP BW transformation and business logic into modern Databricks-based data pipelines.Develop ETL/ELT workflows using Databricks, PySpark, SQL, and Python.Build and optimize Delta Lake tables and modern data architectures within Databricks.Perform data mapping, reconciliation, validation, and quality checks between SAP source systems and Databricks.Identify opportunities to simplify, optimize, and modernize legacy SAP BW data processes.Collaborate with SAP functional teams, data engineers, architects, business stakeholders, and cloud teams.Troubleshoot data integration, performance, and migration issues.Develop technical documentation covering data mappings, architecture, transformation logic, migration processes, and operational procedures.Support testing, performance tuning, deployment, and production stabilization activities.Required Skills & Experience:8+ years of experience in SAP BW, SAP data warehousing, or SAP data engineering.Strong hands-on experience with SAP BW/BW on HANA/BW/4HANA.Strong knowledge of SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA data structures and extraction mechanisms.Proven experience with SAP BW/ECC migration or modernization to Databricks or another cloud data platform.Strong hands-on experience with Databricks.Strong SQL skills and experience with complex data transformations.Strong experience with PySpark and/or Python for data engineering.Experience designing and developing ETL/ELT data pipelines.Experience with SAP BW objects including ADSO, InfoProviders, CompositeProviders, DTPs, Transformations, and Process Chains.Understanding of SAP data extraction technologies such as ODP/ODQ, SAP Extractors, SLT, or similar.Experience with data migration, reconciliation, validation, and data quality.Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and modern data architecture.Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:Azure / AWS cloud experience.Azure Data Factory or similar orchestration tools.Delta Lake and Lakehouse architecture.Databricks Workflows and Unity Catalog.SAP Datasphere.SAP HANA.ABAP knowledge for understanding SAP extraction logic.Experience implementing Medallion Architecture.Experience with large-scale enterprise data modernization programs.
