The Tool Designer / Fixture Designer position involves working in the aerospace industry with a focus on tooling design and fixture creation. This contract role is based in El Cajon, California, and offers a compensation of $50 per hour. The selected candidate will play a critical role in the development of tooling solutions that enhance manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency and efficacy within production environments.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign aerospace tooling and fixtures according to project specifications and industry standards.Utilize Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T) to ensure precision in designs.Collaborate with engineers and production teams to analyze and refine manufacturing methods.Create and modify designs using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.Support assembly process planning by providing necessary tooling solutions.Review, test, and validate designs to ensure functionality and compliance.Participate in project meetings to communicate design progress and integrate feedback.Required and Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Production Engineering.Proficient in aerospace tooling design with a solid understanding of manufacturing methods.Strong knowledge of Assembly Processes.Experience with CAD software is essential.Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T) is required.This role entails working closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering and production, to ensure successful project execution and compliance with industry standards. Collaboration is key as the designer will interact with various stakeholders to align tooling solutions with manufacturing requirements.The Tool Designer / Fixture Designer will report to the engineering manager, ensuring that design projects align with organizational objectives and timelines.Collaboration with other departments is essential to creating effective tooling that meets both quality and design standards, contributing to the overall efficiency of the production processes.
