The position is a contract role based in East Saint Louis, Illinois, where the successful candidate will contribute significantly to engineering projects involving CNC programming and machining. The impact of this position is pivotal, as it is responsible for enhancing manufacturing processes and ensuring that production meets high standards.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement CNC programs for machining parts in line with specifications.Monitor and enhance production processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of CNC machinery to ensure optimal operation.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and specifications.Conduct analyses and provide detailed reports on production metrics and outcomes.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to foster a culture of excellence.Support the training of junior engineers and operators on CNC technologies and practices.Required and Preferred QualificationsBachelor's in Engineering or equivalent experience.Proven experience with CNC programming and machining.Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.Familiarity with industry-standard CNC software and tools.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration.This position regularly interacts with other engineers, production staff, and quality assurance teams, facilitating seamless collaboration on various projects. The successful candidate will report directly to the Engineering Manager and will be integral to ensuring production goals are achieved through effective use of CNC technologies.The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive projects forward, leveraging technical skills to meet the demands of the automotive manufacturing environment.
