About the Firm We are a national litigation firm with a track record of courtroom excellence, representing individuals and municipalities harmed by corporate misconduct. Our work spans MDL, mass tort, class action, civil rights, consumer protection, and fraud litigation. We take cases to hold powerful institutions accountable and fight for meaningful, precedent-setting change. Position Overview Are you a litigator who has taken real ownership of complex matters, drafted the complaint, argued the motion, led the deposition, and are ready to do that work on behalf of people who actually need it? We are looking for an Associate Attorney who brings serious litigation skills, genuine commitment to plaintiff-side advocacy, and the drive to take on substantive responsibility from day one. We are equally interested in candidates coming from BigLaw complex commercial litigation, federal clerkships, government service, or civil rights practices. What You'll Do - Take real ownership of federal and state court matters: drafting complaints, petitions, and demand letters; motion practice at trial and appellate levels; discovery; and emergency injunctive relief. - Conduct and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses; assist with trial and oral argument preparation. - Manage offensive and defensive discovery across complex, multi-party, and class action matters. - Evaluate and develop new case intakes, including client interviews and litigation theory development. - Coordinate litigation efforts across co-counsel, clients, and advocacy organizations. - Engage directly with clients throughout the litigation, responsively and proactively. - Contribute to a team culture where precision, intellectual rigor, and mission-driven advocacy coexist. Required - J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials; top 10% of class or equivalent distinction strongly preferred. - 3 to 7 years of litigation experience with demonstrated ownership of substantive work product, not just supporting roles. - Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction in good standing; New Jersey or New York admission preferred. - Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills, demonstrated through briefs, law review, published work, or equivalent. - Genuine commitment to plaintiff-side advocacy. Strongly Preferred (any of the following) - Federal judicial clerkship (district or appellate). - Government litigation experience (AUSA, state AG, public defender, or equivalent) with lead or significant associate-level responsibility. - BigLaw or boutique complex commercial or civil rights litigation experience, including class actions, MDL, or multi-party federal matters. - Published legal scholarship, law review editorial leadership, or demonstrated engagement with the legal issues at the core of our practice. - Deposition experience, first or second chair, or oral argument before state or federal courts. - Additional language proficiency, particularly relevant to client communities we serve. Benefits & Perks - Bonus: Origination, profit sharing and performance incentives. - Benefits: Health, dental, vision, life, PTO and retirement. - Growth: Mentorship from trial attorneys and a real development path.
