We are currently seeking a Freelance PLC Controls Engineer to join our team in Portland, Maine. Your expertise will directly influence our systems' performance and efficiency, making a significant contribution to our clients' success.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement PLC programming for automated systems across multiple projects.Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to resolve any encountered issues.Collaborate with engineering teams to design control strategies that meet project specifications.Create comprehensive documentation for programming processes and operational manuals.Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in automation engineering.Participate in project meetings to provide insights and updates on engineering tasks.Support integration of PLC systems with other manufacturing technologies and hardware.Required and Preferred QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering, with a focus on Electrical or Automation Engineering preferred.Proven experience in PLC Programming, with hands-on expertise in relevant software (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Hitachi, etc.).Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.Ability to speak, write, and understand English (B1 level or higher).Industry-standard certifications in automation or related fields are highly desirable.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the engineering field.This role presents numerous growth opportunities within a supportive company culture that values innovation and teamwork.
