Company: Mercer (Part of Marsh McLennan)Location: United States (Hybrid – 3 days in office, 2 days remote)Employment Type: Full-TimeExperience Level: Mid-Senior LevelIndustry: Financial Services / Employee BenefitsSalary Range: $151,000 – $170,000 annuallyAbout the RoleMercer, a global leader in consulting and financial services and part of Marsh McLennan, is seeking a talented Health & Benefits Sales Professional to join its growing U.S. sales team.In this role, you will leverage Mercer’s expertise to help organizations address critical challenges related to employee benefits, healthcare strategy, financial security, and workforce well-being. The ideal candidate will bring strong consultative selling experience and a proven track record of generating new business within the employee benefits or health consulting industry.This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to work three days per week in a local Mercer office and two days remotely.Key ResponsibilitiesDrive new business growth by identifying, developing, and closing opportunities with mid-market organizations.Manage and grow a portfolio of complex or high-value client accounts.Conduct proactive sales outreach including cold calls, client meetings, and presentations.Develop compelling sales proposals, presentations, and RFP responses tailored to client needs.Lead the full sales lifecycle from prospect identification through negotiation and contract close.Analyze market trends and industry developments to identify new opportunities.Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and C-suite executives.Collaborate with internal teams to ensure high-quality service delivery and client satisfaction.Identify cross-selling opportunities across Mercer’s broader service offerings.Represent Mercer at industry conferences, networking events, and professional associations.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree required.Minimum 5+ years of sales experience in employee benefits, insurance brokerage, or health and benefits consulting.Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.Experience selling to mid-market organizations with approximately 1,000 – 5,000 employees.Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to engage senior executives.Knowledge of employee benefits and health benefits consulting solutions.Preferred QualificationsLife and Health Insurance License.Established network within the employee benefits or insurance brokerage industry.Experience managing complex enterprise sales cycles.Work Model & Location RequirementsHybrid schedule: 3 days in-office and 2 days remote.Candidates must currently live within commuting distance of a Mercer office location in the United States.Multiple openings available across U.S. regions (excluding Alaska and Hawaii).
