We are seeking a skilled Fiber Optic & Structured Cabling Technician to join our team in Glens Falls, New York. As a full-time member of our growing company, you will play a vital role in the deployment and maintenance of critical wiring infrastructure that supports our client's communication systems. This position offers a dynamic work environment where you will have the opportunity to impact projects significantly and contribute to the reliability of our services.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, terminate, and test fiber optic and structured cabling systems according to industry standards and local regulations.Perform splicing and OTDR testing to ensure optimal performance and reliability of communication lines.Conduct thorough troubleshooting and maintenance activities to resolve issues swiftly.Document all installations, maintenance activities, and testing results for compliance and quality assurance.Collaborate with project managers and other technicians to deliver projects on time and within budget.Assist in the design and layout of network cabling systems to meet client specifications.Participate in site surveys and audits to determine cabling needs for new projects.Required and preferred qualificationsTechnical Certification in Fiber Optics or Structured Cabling is required.Proven experience with fiber optics, structured cabling, low voltage systems, and associated tools.Strong skills in splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.Experience using common testing equipment such as OTDRs and patch panels.Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the telecommunications field is preferred.Our team structure includes collaboration between field technicians, project managers, and support staff to ensure seamless project delivery.
