We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Surgical Technologist II on a contract basis to join our medical team in Houston, Texas. This position is crucial in facilitating efficient and safe surgical procedures in a dynamic healthcare environment. As part of a reputable health organization, you will play a significant role in improving patient outcomes and ensuring the highest standards of surgical care.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist surgeons and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining the sterile field.Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are ready for use, adhering to the protocols for cleanliness and functionality.Handle instruments and supplies in a manner that adheres to established infection prevention guidelines.Assist in transporting patients to and from the operating room, monitoring their safety and comfort.Participate in inventory management, ensuring adequate supplies for surgical procedures are maintained.Document all activities, maintaining accurate records of surgical procedures and patient care during operations.Collaborate closely with nursing staff and surgical teams to anticipate the needs of the surgical procedure effectively.Required and preferred qualificationsAssociate's Degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited institution.1-3 years of experience in a surgical technologist role preferred.Skills in assisting with various surgical procedures, knowledge of surgical terminology, and techniques.Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is preferred.Experience with following proper sterilization procedures and handling surgical instruments.Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and basic computer skills.Our organization promotes a collaborative team culture where every member is valued and encouraged to contribute to their fullest potential.
