We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our team on a contract basis in Liverpool, New York. As a key player in our IT department, you will support a mid-sized organization focused on delivering quality services to clients while ensuring our internal systems run smoothly. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the productivity of our staff by addressing technical issues efficiently and effectively.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide first and second-level technical support to employees regarding hardware and software issues.Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, and related peripherals.Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in a timely manner, using effective communication to keep users informed.Assist in the setup and maintenance of user accounts and permissions in various systems.Document issues and resolutions in the ticketing system to ensure knowledge sharing.Collaborate with the IT team to identify recurring problems and implement long-term solutions.Participate in IT projects that involve upgrades, rollouts, and system transitions.Required and preferred qualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Experience with Windows and Mac operating systems, along with basic networking concepts.Familiarity with software applications and hardware troubleshooting.Industry-standard certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician, or equivalent are preferred.At least 2 years of experience in a desktop support role.Our team is structured to promote collaboration, with Desktop Support Technicians reporting to the IT Manager. You will work closely with Help Desk staff, network engineers, and other IT team members to ensure seamless service delivery.
