ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and implement fully integrated mechanical assembly systems meeting process requirements and applicable codes.Perform hazard analysis and develop mitigation plans.Optimize system reliability by minimizing Class 1 parts and single points of failure.Prepare system documentation, including theory of operation, design descriptions, test plans, and maintenance procedures.Create mechanical design and assembly drawings using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.Design and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems.Conduct stress, fatigue, reliability, life expectancy, and tolerance studies.Apply amusement ride safety standards for guest accelerations, reach envelope, ingress/egress, weight, and emergency evacuation.Assist with system start-up, debugging, and documentation development.Act as technical lead on projects and guide junior engineers, technicians, and contractors.Manage smaller projects ($50K–$250K), including planning, resource allocation, scheduling, cost control, and subcontractor management.Propose and manage change orders.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.Experience: 5+ years in mechanical systems design, components, stress analysis, acceleration forces, and amusement ride safety standards (ASTM).Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.Knowledge of contract documents/specifications, field data collection, and system design functions.Strong planning, organization, problem-solving, and customer focus.Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office.Physical DemandsVisual acuity, color perception, hearing, clear speech, manual dexterity.Ability to drive, lift, climb, mount/dismount equipment, push, and pull.Working ConditionsStandard office and on-site industrial/construction environments.Frequent use of PC, fax, copier, and phone.
