We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Manager for our Med/Surg Oncology unit located in Clackamas, Oregon. In this impactful role, you will be at the forefront of patient care, ensuring high-quality services that directly contribute to improved health outcomes for our oncology patients.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily operations of the Med/Surg Oncology unit, ensuring patient care aligns with best practices and organizational standards.Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence.Conduct regular assessments of staff performance through observations and evaluations, identifying areas for skill development.Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive patient care plans.Manage unit budget, including staffing levels and resource allocation, to maintain financial health and optimum patient care.Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and care quality in the oncology unit.Facilitate educational sessions and training for nursing staff to promote ongoing professional development.Required and Preferred QualificationsEducation: BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) required.Experience: A minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, including 2-3 years in a leadership role within an oncology setting.Skills: Strong leadership skills with a focus on team-building and effective communication.Certifications: Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) preferred; ongoing education and certifications encouraged.Tools: Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other nursing software applications.The ideal candidate will be part of a supportive team structure, reporting directly to the Director of Nursing. You will work closely with charge nurses, staff nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and operational success.
